“I started working with Marcus in October of 2018 after a major surgery, in which i lost my left fibula. Physical therapy helped me get back on my feet, but did nothing for me as far as becoming the athlete i was before surgery. someone referred me to marcus, who helped me regain strength in my leg particularly, but also my upper body. thanks to him, i am not only the athlete i once was, but i am a far better athlete than i ever could have dreamed of after surgery.”

“The first time I showed up to train with Marcus and MT Performance, I was late. I was also too self-conscious, insecure, and anxious to even make it into the gym. I had never been an athlete, and when I started training with Marcus I had not exercised consistently in about two years. Thankfully, Marcus did not hold my flake of a first session nor my lack of athleticism and plethora of insecurities against me, and I've been training with him for about a year now.


Exercising had always been a pursuit of aesthetics for me, and, at times, not a healthy pursuit. Resetting my personal relationship with exercise has been no easy task, and some days I still struggle, yet thanks to Marcus I have learned to value the strength that can only come from exercising. I have learned to set goals not focused on either aesthetics or a number on the scale but on my body's strength. (Most recently, dead-lifting 200 pounds before my 27th birthday.) I'm still learning how to truly push myself, and Marcus can always recognize when I am pushing myself enough (...or not enough) as well as too much due to his expansive knowledge and understanding of physiology. Marcus also recognizes how best to mentally motivate his clients. He is able to recognize when a client is having an off day or a good day, and he is willing to adapt the session to best fit the client even on the spot. My next goal is one chin-up. I know I'll get it...especially with Marcus cheering me on.


Whatever kind of training you are looking for, I highly recommend Marcus and MT Performance. Marcus's knowledge about the exercises and the physiology combined with his enthusiasm for you and your goals are not easily found and are invaluable. Basically, check him out.
